We got on another plane, this time to Alaska. We got in midafternoon and picked up our rental car -- a Lambourghini. Well, actually a Dodge Neon. They were all out of Lambourghinis....
We wandered around downtown for a few hours -- a lot of tourist shops.

Then we went to the Anchorage hostel, which was, well, not great. Kind of run down. And they were building a high-rise hotel next door, so it was in the middle of a construction zone.
Happily, though, Anchorage had some nice microbreweries. We went for a few beers at the Snow Goose Brewery (Chris really liked their Scottish Ale), followed by dinner at the Brewhouse.
It stays light pretty late. We went to bed around 10:30; the sun was just setting.
