Day 4: Kayaking on Kachemak Bay

We caught a ferry -- just a small boat with an outboard motor, really -- to Yukon Island, where we had a day of kayaking. It was a very small group -- four people including our guide.

We paddled all the way around the island, and saw several sea otters (including one mom w/ a pup on her tummy), a few puffins, bald eagles, and a seal who followed us for a while until we paddled through a kelp bed which he decided not to navigate. We even saw a porpoise as we were stowing the kayaks. The scenery was just beautiful. Kayaking is easy, and the best way to be on the water. Try it!
